Continuing on

Recently, Angelika and Sara were able to teach three girls in a small group for a few weeks. They baked and did crafts with them, but the main purpose of this time was to tell them about the LORD! They always listened attentively, but they do not know to what extent the message has made an impact on their hearts, as they never said anything about it.

There is an advantage to teaching small groups as there are less distractions and the interaction is more personal. Pray for a new opportunity to walk more youngsters through the Bible, and for the working out of the details. They are considering a group of eight to ten children of similar age, and to incorporate baking and crafting activities. This could then be considered a project.

Currently the schools are closed, and the summer break lasts until mid-May. Angelika and Sara are using this time to prepare for the above-mentioned programme, which they plan to start after the summer holidays. Pray for wisdom as to which children they should invite, and that they will attend regularly in order to hear and understand the LORD’s story of salvation in its entirety.

Angelika and Sara are grateful for their two language helpers and are making progress in language learning. In July, they will have another evaluation to see how much they have learnt. Thank you for praying for them in this regard – for patience, perseverance, and increased understanding. Their language helpers are also sharing more with them about their lives. They are learning a great deal about their culture and beliefs. Please continue to pray that their mutual rapport will grow so that they will eventually be eager to hear about Jesus.

Pray for a young woman from a devout religious family who has been seriously ill for several months. The illness started almost unnoticed until she became weak and eventually, they discovered that she has tuberculosis in the brain. The family has done everything religiously possible – offering sacrifices to every entity they could conceive of and consulting every fortune teller within their reach – yet nothing has changed. She is not doing well, and the family cannot understand why something like this would happen to their daughter, given how religious they are as a family. Pray that this situation prompts the whole family to seek answers, and that Angelika and Sara know how to be witnesses for the Great Physician.

In January, Angelika, Sara, and their American colleagues, attended a Bible translation workshop. Although Angelika and Sara are still far from being able to assist with translation work, they were asked to join. It was a deeply enriching time, and they were once again made aware of the monumental task Bible translation truly is.

Currently it is very hot in Southeast Asia where they serve, and they all become fatigued very quickly since they have no air conditioning. Pray for energy and stamina for all that needs to be done.

Praise:

– For HIS help and protection thus far

– For the opportunity to tell the kids about the LORD

– For their two language helpers

– For the continued growth of relationships in the village

– For the Bible translation workshop

Pray:

– That they would be a light and witness to their language helpers and the people around them

– For wisdom and guidance in the ministry with the kids

– For their language and culture study

– For healing of the young woman and for her and her family to open their hearts to Jesus

– For their co-workers and the Bible translation

– For more labourers in this great harvest field

Thank you so much for your continued prayers
