A privilege

Andrew enjoyed leading the Bible programme for teenagers during the yearly church conference. It was lively, meaningful, and a great opportunity to connect with the youth.

In October, Andrew was part of a team that had the privilege of going into the interior to teach young people from the Wana people group. They were blessed to have around 40 youth attend each day during the three-day gathering. This was his second time visiting this year. What encouraged him the most was reconnecting with three boys he had discipled during his previous visit. He was able to sit with them again, listen to their prayer requests, and pray with them. He treasures the one-on-one discipleship moments and enjoyed serving with a wider team.

Joanna attended a bookkeeping seminar in the city, which was very practical and gave her more confidence with the admin side of their work.

Joanna and the team recently held their first Sunday school teacher seminar in one of the villages – and it went really well. God brought 20 men and women from three different villages. Four practical sessions on how to prepare and teach the new material in engaging and clear ways. During discussion, the teachers shared personal challenges that often make preparation difficult. God used this time to rekindle their passion for investing in the next generation. A special joy was seeing some former dorm students – now married with children – leading a small weekly Bible study for young girls. What a privilege to see the Gospel passed on! They look forward to holding more seminars like this in other villages.

They were also blessed by a visit from the missions education consultant, who spent a week helping several families. It was a timely and encouraging time, and they are very grateful for the wisdom and support.

Their upcoming home assignment in Northern Ireland is planned for early February next year. They also plan to attend a missions conference in the USA at the end of February for two weeks. They may possibly attend the Reach conference in March at North Cotes. Returning to Asia-Pacific in April.

Please pray for:

  • All the upcoming Christmas services in many churches – pray that the Gospel will be preached and clearly understood.
  • Finishing up several Bible studies before the Christmas break.
  • The young people who are planning to return to their village to spend Christmas with their families.
  • Joanna’s dad’s visit this month.
  • Preparations for home assignment.
