BRAZIL – REVISITED
We arrived in Manaus after over twenty hours travelling and were greeted by Ronald Jonker and Joel Ketcham, missionaries at the missionary school, on the banks of the Amazon. We travelled for another hour in the car and then after a short boat ride down river we arrived at the school we were to be working at for the next three weeks.
The team’s job was to empty the school, remove the old roof, cement in supporting posts to hold the new roof and then raise the heavy trusses onto the building. We made good progress on the roof despite the hot sun and humidity and we are thankful to God for his protection over us throughout the trip!
We were able to swim in the river after work, enjoy the fellowship of devotions in the mornings, and be thankful for God’s beautiful creation that we were surrounded by.
I LEFT BRAZIL ENCOURAGED, CHALLENGED AND GRATEFUL FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO HELP WITH THE LORD’S WORK OVERSEAS.
After this Summit trip and in response to seeing the need, I have come back to Brazil to help with maintenance and teaching at the school for five months. When I return home I plan to study Aerospace Engineering
